AJR rabbis and cantors build communities.

To fulfill requirements leading to ordination, students must participate in two years of supervised fieldwork that is concurrent with Fieldwork Support Seminars. The ten hours of weekly commitment are inclusive of preparation time, supervision, and other meetings as well as actual performance. Fieldwork requirements include a mandatory range of experiences, such as participation in life cycle events, holiday celebrations, time on the pulpit, counseling, chaplaincy and education. Hopefully, all of these experiences can be gained in one setting. Where not available, we encourage our students to find an opportunity in an alternate setting. Our goal is to expose our students to a full understanding of the nature of the profession.

Please refer to the AJR Student Handbook 5779 for more detailed information.
